Job Description: VNA/CB Driver – Cold Store
Location: Manchester, UK
Role Overview:
The VNA/CB Driver will be responsible for operating a VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) and/or CB (Counterbalance) forklift truck to transport goods within a chilled or frozen warehouse environment. The role will primarily focus on loading, unloading, and storing products efficiently while maintaining safety standards and ensuring that products are ready for dispatch in a timely manner. This position requires someone with experience in a cold store environment and a solid understanding of safe forklift operation.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate VNA and CB forklifts to move stock within the cold storage area.

Safely load and unload deliveries from trucks and transfer goods to appropriate storage locations within the warehouse.

Store and retrieve stock in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring stock rotation and appropriate temperature storage.

Support the production packing team by delivering materials or finished goods to designated areas as required.

Accurately pick and prepare stock for dispatch, ensuring correct product handling and documentation.

Conduct daily checks on forklift equipment and ensure it is maintained and safe for use.

Record and document relevant temperature checks for the cold store environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Assist with stock counting, inventory control, and managing order fulfilment.

Adhere to all safety protocols and hygiene standards required in a cold store environment.

Be flexible in supporting other departments and tasks as requested by the production manager.
Requirements:

Essential:
-
Valid VNA and CB Forklift Licence (Counterbalance).

Experience working in a cold storage or refrigerated environment.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.

Ability to work in varying temperature conditions (chilled and frozen areas).
-
Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods until the job is completed.

Must have valid Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Previous experience working in a food manufacturing or distribution environment is desirable.
Desirable:
Knowledge of stock management and temperature-controlled storage procedures.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Flexibility is required as you may be asked to work longer hours during busy periods until the job is completed.
