Warehouse Operative - E-commerce
Department: Warehouse & Logistics
Reports to: Warehouse Manager / Supply Chain Manager

Job Purpose:
To support the efficient operation of the e-commerce warehouse by ensuring accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of online orders, maintaining inventory integrity, and contributing to a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Order Fulfilment:
    Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently using handheld scanners and/or pick lists.
  • Stock Management:
    Receive, check, and store incoming goods. Assist with stock counts and inventory audits.
  • Dispatch & Shipping:
    Prepare parcels for dispatch, ensuring correct labelling and documentation. Liaise with courier services as needed.
  • Returns Processing:
    Handle returned items, inspect for damage, and update inventory systems accordingly.
  • Warehouse Maintenance:
    Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
  • System Updates:
    Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to update stock levels and order statuses.
  • Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with other warehouse operatives and supervisors to meet daily targets and KPIs.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role (e-commerce preferred)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Familiarity with WMS or inventory software.  Experience with Linnworks and or Sage 200 would be an advantage
  • Ability to lift and move items safely
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required
