Maintenance Engineer – Poynton

Hours: Mon–Thu 7:30–16:00, Fri 7:30–15:30

We’re recruiting a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support a busy industrial site. You’ll manage planned and reactive maintenance, equipment repairs, statutory inspections and ensure smooth operation of key machinery.

Key Duties

• Manage and update the preventative maintenance schedule
• Respond to breakdowns across cranes, saws, FLTs and other plant equipment
• Arrange statutory inspections with approved providers
• Carry out PAT testing and general maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and daily logs
• Support H&S, quality and environmental compliance (ISO standards)
• Work with contractors and internal teams to ensure safe working practices
• Occasional out‑of‑hours support when required

Requirements

• Up‑to‑date electrical qualification – NVQ Level 3 & 2391 Testing
• Industrial site experience desirable
• General handyman abilities
• IPAF licence
• EET/PAT trained
• Confident using Excel and Word
• Able to use cloud‑based safety/maintenance systems (e.g., Atlas)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Flexible and willing to support call‑outs
• Welding certification (preferred)
