Children’s Support Worker – Short Breaks Service (Ages 8–18)
We are currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people aged 8–18 within a short breaks service.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with additional emotional and behavioural needs.
Experience Required (Strongly Preferred)
Although not legally required, the ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children and young people aged 8–18
- Experience within residential childcare settings
- Experience supporting children affected by trauma, emotional dysregulation, SEN, or behaviours that challenge
- Understanding of attachment, professional boundaries, and therapeutic approaches
- Ability to follow care plans and work effectively as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, supportive, and child-centred care
- Support young people with daily routines and activities
- Build positive and professional relationships with children and families
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
