Residential Childcare Practitioner
Location: Reading, UK
Position: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £23,088 - £25,974 per annum (37 hours a week)

Role Overview:
Seeking dedicated and resilient Residential Childcare Practitioners for a new 4-bed home in Reading. Help children who have experienced trauma feel safe and cared for in a nurturing environment. Make a significant impact by turning our house into their home.

Key Responsibilities:
* Daily Support: Assist with routines, personal hygiene, and medication.
* Meal Planning: Cook meals and plan menus with the children.
* Mentorship: Guide young people to make good choices.
* Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and well-kept home.
* Safeguarding: Ensure effective safeguarding and raise concerns as needed.
* Education Support: Assist with homework and academic reviews.
* Reporting: Complete daily reports and maintain records.
* Policy Adherence: Follow organizational policies and Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
* Team Collaboration: Attend team meetings, training days, and work on a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Candidate Requirements:
* Commitment: Genuine engagement with children with challenging behaviours.
* Relationship Building: Create positive, safeguarding relationships.
* Flexibility: Willing to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, and undertake sleep-ins.
* Resilience: Personal resilience and initiative.
* Fun and Engagement: Arrange and participate in social activities and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience: Working with young people with social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties (desirable).
* Education: NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce (or willingness to complete).
* Driving License: Full, clean UK Driving License (preferred).
