Job description

Our client are a well-established light manufacturer supplying major UK retailers, and due to continued growth they are looking for a Manager to oversee a production department with specific responsibility for health and safety, maintenance contracts, material forecasting and replenishment.
This is a varied role reporting directly to the Managing Director and providing support throughout the factory.

As Department Head you will be responsible for:

This is a varied role reporting directly to the Managing Director and providing support throughout the factory.

As Department Head you will be responsible for:
* Leading, motivating and overseeing a team of production operatives to ensure schedules are met within required timeframes and set QC standards/
* Stock management, forecasting, and re-ordering.
* Manage servicing and maintenance for all equipment.
* Supporting and training operatives and maintaining records.
* Driving standards and monitoring quality controls to reduce issues and delays.
* Health and safety and compliance responsibilities.

You will have the following skills and experience:
* Experience within a light manufacturing environment ideally including the use of
mitie saws, cross-cut saws, and pinners.
* Health and safety experience or qualifications.
* Highly organised with strong administration and communication skills.
* Interest in process improvement whilst increasing performance.
* Hardworking and motivated with a can-do attitude to lead by example.

This is a key role within the organisation, reporting directly to the Managing Director and you will play an important role in our growth strategy and development.

You may have experience of the following: Production Team Leader, Manufacturing Supervisor, health, and safety appointed person and Compliance Manager.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm with overtime available (seasonal).
Holidays: 20 days per annum + bank holidays + Pension and discretionary bonus scheme.
