Job description

Time Recruitment Solutions are currently working with a leader in the field of advanced polymer compounding, with a global footprint of local units, ensuring your industrial needs are met on cost and on time.

Due to continued growth and success through 2023 they are looking to expand and are looking for a skilled and experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team.

Duties

The Engineer is responsible for the proactive maintenance of all manufacturing plant,
equipment and facilities ensuring that they are in good working order and compliant with any relevant operating standards.
The Engineer is also involved with operational improvement initiatives targeted to improve
equipment reliability (reducing unplanned downtime / maximising equipment availability
(uptime).

Key Accountabilities
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and securely; for both
employees and contractors and in line with company policies and procedures,
and current health and safety legislation.
Be proactive, with regard to maintaining site machinery, recommend on-going
improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
Advise management of any safety issues that need action and ensure that
anything requiring urgent action is dealt with immediately.
Assist the Engineering Manager to develop planned preventative maintenance
schedules (PPM).
Carryout PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required.
Respond to equipment faults/breakdowns as they occur including diagnosis / fault
finding and carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and
professional manner.
Involved in the installation and commission of new equipment and machinery.
Assist and co-ordinate with visiting specialist engineers when necessary.

Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults and concerns to management.
Make full use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Plan / prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working
time.
Undertake designated fabrication / engineering projects as assigned by the
Engineering Manager or Manufacturing & R&D Manager.

5. Ideal competencies required for Role
Time served multi skilled engineer with 7+ years' experience in a manufacturing
environment.
IEE 18th edition wiring regulation qualification desirable.
Experience with plastic processing equipment and extrusion is desirable.
Relevant mechanical / Electrical based apprenticeship with City & Guilds or equivalent
qualifications.
Must have the ability to work on their own and also be a fully integrated
member of a team.
Strong fault finding and problem solving skills.
Be able to perform a highly physical job and be comfortable working at height.
Conversant with H&S rules, regulations and best practices.
Computer literate -Microsoft Excel/ Word/ Outlook and Internet.
