Job Title: Production Line Leader

Location: Swinton, UK

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Line Leader to join our team and take charge of the production line, ensuring smooth operations and high productivity.

Role Overview:

As a Production Line Leader, you will play a key role in overseeing daily production activities. You will be responsible for managing the production line and the team, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, while maintaining safety and quality standards. In addition, you will be expected to complete necessary paperwork, report issues to management, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 AM - 16:40 PM

     

  • Friday: 08:00 AM - 15:30 PM

     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line Management: Supervise, motivate, and support the team of operators working on the production line, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and according to set timelines.

     

  • Production Oversight: Ensure smooth operations of the production line, monitoring the process and output to meet daily and weekly production targets.

     

  • Problem Resolution: Quickly identify and report any issues with equipment, processes, or product quality to management. Actively contribute to finding and implementing solutions.

     

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

     

  • Paperwork & Reporting: Complete required production paperwork accurately and on time, including records of daily production, staff attendance, and any incidents or issues.

     

  • Quality Control: Ensure that products meet quality standards by conducting regular checks and addressing any non-conformance.

     

  • Training & Development: Provide training to new and existing team members as needed. Foster a culture of development, encouraging ongoing skill improvement.

     

  • Team Collaboration: Communicate regularly with other teams and departments (e.g., maintenance, quality assurance, and management) to ensure seamless operations and address any cross-functional issues.

     

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and work with management to implement changes that enhance productivity and quality.

     

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Production Line Leader or in a similar supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.

     

  • Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, and safety standards.

     

  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and efficiently.

     

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.

     

  • Proven problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to resolving issues.

     

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

     

  • Familiarity with production scheduling and reporting systems.

     

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.

     

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in managing teams in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

     

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

     

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles would be beneficial.

     

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
