Job description

UNIT MANAGER
Nelson, Burnley / £20.94 ph + Paid Break / Days or Nights Available

Registered Nurse required. My client is a long standing and trusted Healthcare Provider who provide quality services for people who have General Nursing needs, EMI, EMD care, physically disabled, rehabilitation and respite.
This provider is also proud to have achieved the Investors in People GOLD award ensuring all staff are trained to the highest standard, they have also received the Work Life Balance Award and are the only organisation nationally to have received this award which is a strong indicator of how they like to support, nurture and care for their staff members. They have 6 homes across England with this service located in Nelson, Burnley. This is a purpose built home with 60 beds that is providing care for people with General Nursing and medical needs for Older Adults including Palliative and end of life care, dementia care and can also care for 8 younger persons with physical disabilities for those aged 18 - 65 years.

Duties for Unit Manager Position:
* Running of the unit
* Ensuring the care, welfare and safety of all residents is maintained at the highest possible standard
* Coaching and motivating the team of nurses and care staff to deliver high standards of casre at all times
* Updating care plans on a daily basis
* Safely administering and recording of medication
* Liaising effectively with external suppliers and health care providers
* Monitoring and developing performance of care staff
* Ensuring effective rotas are in place
* Completing physical/psychological assessments of new residents on admission
* Creating individualised care plans for residents
* Updating care plans on a daily basis

Requirements for the Unit Manager:
* Registered Nurse with Valid Pin
* Excellent knowledge of all Standards and NMC code of practice
* Proven track record of person-centred care planning
* Experienced leader and mentor
* A passion for delivering high standards of care
