My client is a family-run business that has been manufacturing high-quality British-made electric cables and flexible cords for almost 50 years. Due to our significant growth in the industry, we are currently seeking a Cable Making Operative to join our highly dedicated team.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, dependable, and have a strong work ethic. However, if you are keen to learn a new role in a new workplace, we welcome your application.
As a Cable Making Operative, you will be working in a fast-paced factory environment where attention to detail is essential. You will be responsible for manufacturing cable, following schematic drawings, striping coils off mandrels, building, wiring, and testing electrical control panels, coiling and reversing cables, and completing work to a high standard.
The Cable Making Operative role offers a starting salary of £10.42 per hour, 20 days paid holiday per year plus bank holidays, and a 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday. You will be operating shift patterns between 6-2.30 pm and 9.30 - 6 pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Initially, you will be on the Training Shift 8.00 - 4.30 pm.
As an employee, you will have access to company benefits, including on-the-job skill development, death in service cover, and wellbeing programs. We also offer free onsite parking.
We are looking for candidates with effective communication skills, the ability to listen, learn, and process information, good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good time management skills, high motivation, and good work ethics are also essential.
