Our client is a brand leading bakery,situated in the heart of Manchester and have been established for more than 40 years.

They are a one site operation with circa 65 staff, with The standard operating hours are 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

The Role

The BRC Auditor is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured by the Company meet safety, quality, and legal requirements. This will be achieved by monitoring and maintaining quality assurance systems, food safety audits and HACCAP.

Key Responsibilities.
 Continually develop and maintain the Company quality management system and HACCP. with the assistance of our current BRC co-ordinator and administrator
 Act upon legislation and guidelines to ensure that manufacturing is conducted legally.
 Advise on hygiene and housekeeping, factory fabrication and food handling practices to ensure products are produced in a food safe environment.
 Ensure compliance to customer's requirements and standards and the BRC Global Standard for food safety.
 Provide information and expertise to external stakeholders on all food safety and quality related matters.
 Be the main contact for and liaise with third party auditors. Ensure all documentation is available. Implement agreed corrective actions.
 Ensure compliance to relevant standards.
 Complete internal audits.
 Advise on food safety and hygiene.
 Training of staff on food safety and hygiene to develop a food strong safety culture.
 Ensure maintenance of customer and raw material specifications.
 Liaise and co-operate with the directors and production and commercial teams to ensure that customers are supplied with food products which are safe to eat, and that the quality complies with specifications.
 Liaise and co-operate with the directors and production and commercial teams to ensure that products meet current legislation standards and that they are produced under methods of Good Manufacturing Practices.
 Oversee launch of new products and artwork approval system.
 Conduct supplier audits as required.
 Set objectives including team and individual KPI's based on a consumer-focused business plan and monitoring these objectives and KPI's to ensure they are met.
 Analyse possible reasons for product defects and quality lapses and lead traceability investigations.
 Developing inspection protocols for materials, products and packaging and SOPs that are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
