Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for compliance and risk management? A highly respected and long-established law firm in the North West is seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer to join their growing team. Representing over 200 colleagues-including 37 partners and 121 fee-earners-this firm is renowned for its commitment to legal excellence, client service, and community engagement.

With a proud heritage spanning more than 125 years, this firm has built a reputation as a trusted adviser to a diverse client base, including large corporates, owner-managed businesses, healthcare professionals, leisure operators, and rural enterprises. Their values-teamwork, professionalism, client service, and people-are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role: Compliance Officer

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about upholding the highest standards of compliance. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm's client onboarding processes meet stringent AML and ID verification requirements, while also contributing to the firm's vision of delivering outstanding service and building long-term client relationships.

️ Key Responsibilities:

Execute end-to-end client due diligence in line with AML and ID policies

Obtain and verify identification documentation to meet internal and external compliance standards

Monitor onboarding progress and proactively chase outstanding information

Liaise with the Head of Risk and Compliance on escalated matters

Collaborate with partners, solicitors, and support teams to provide updates and ensure smooth onboarding

Open new files and accurately input data into the practice management system

Manage the Compliance mailbox and maintain strict confidentiality

Monitor ongoing client alerts and report concerns appropriately

Uphold firm-wide policies on health and safety, IT, security, and equality

What They're Looking For:

A strong understanding of AML regulations and client due diligence processes

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

A proactive, client-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently across all levels of the firm

Experience in a legal or professional services environment is highly desirable

Why Join?

This is more than just a compliance role-it's a chance to be part of a firm that genuinely values its people and the communities it serves. You'll be joining a supportive, friendly team where your contribution will be recognised and your career development actively encouraged.
