Clinical Deputy Manager
Location: Liverpool, L4
Pay: £22.50 per hour
Hours: Full-time, supernumerary with occasional shift cover and on‑call duties
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to join a well‑established care service supporting older adults. This role is ideal for a confident clinical leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional standards of care and supporting a dedicated team.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the service operates safely, effectively, and in line with regulatory expectations. Your leadership will help shape a positive, person‑centred environment where residents feel valued, supported, and respected.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience as a Clinical Deputy Manager within a nursing or care home setting
- A valid NMC PIN (RGN or RMN)
- Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks
- Experience developing care plans, risk assessments, and clinical documentation
- Knowledge of MCA/DoLS and medication management guidelines
- A compassionate, resident‑focused approach to leadership
- Confidence mentoring staff and supporting team development

Key Responsibilities for the Clinical Deputy Manager:
Clinical Leadership
- Provide guidance, supervision, and support to the nursing and care teams
- Ensure high standards of clinical practice and safe care delivery
- Oversee medication management in line with professional and legal requirements
Care Planning & Compliance
- Lead on care plan development and regular reviews
- Ensure documentation meets NMC and regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, and external professionals
Operational Support
- Assist with rota planning and staffing coordination
- Participate in the on‑call rota
- Support the Registered Manager in monitoring service quality and compliance
Resident Wellbeing
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice
- Ensure residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met
- Respond effectively to emergencies and make sound clinical decisions
Requirements for the Clinical Deputy Manager:
- RGN or RMN qualification (required)
- NVQ Level 3 or above (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Deputy Manager (preferred)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to work on-site
