Job Title: Estimator

Location: Bristol Office

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team in the Bristol office and contribute to our continued success.

Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements and scope.
Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective construction methods and strategies.
Source and obtain competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
Utilize construction estimating software and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy.
Provide timely and accurate cost advice to project teams and senior management.
Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying and addressing any deviations or discrepancies.
Conduct site visits weekly or fortnightly to assess progress, gather information, and address any estimating-related issues.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and resolve any estimating-related queries.
Prepare and present estimates, proposals, and tender submissions to clients and stakeholders.
Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to inform estimating decisions and strategies.
Assist in value engineering exercises to optimize project costs and improve project profitability.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to estimating activities and project costs.

Requirements:
Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
Experience with Excel, estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to produce precise and reliable estimates.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.
Willingness to travel to project sites in and around the South West as required.
Familiarity with construction contracts and relevant legislation.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
