Location: Manchester (Office & Site Based - No Remote Working)

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 DOE

Our client is a well-established civils contractor based in Manchester, specialising in groundworks for residential developments. With a strong and growing pipeline of work across the North West, primarily with major clients like Taylor Wimpey, they're expanding their commercial team to meet increased demand.

The Role

They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and help ease the growing workload. This is a key hire that will play a vital role in maintaining team balance and preventing burnout.

You will be working alongside an experienced team of Quantity Surveyors and Estimators and reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.

This is an office- and site-based role (no remote work), covering projects within an hour's radius of Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

Attend pre-construction meetings and liaise with clients.

Prepare and submit external applications for payment/invoicing.

Reconcile client payments and monitor cashflow.

Price variations and manage design changes.

Complete final accounts.

Produce quarterly internal cost valuations and cost-to-complete reports.

Support development of internal costing system (Eque2 software).

Work collaboratively with the QS and estimating teams.

Provide commercial input into live and upcoming projects.

What They're Looking For

Strong experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably in groundworks or civils.

Will consider candidates from other construction backgrounds at a lower salary banding.

Ability to work independently.

Comfortable working on site and in the office - this is an old-school, boots-on-the-ground environment.

Practical understanding of commercial processes within construction.

Familiarity with Eque2 software (desirable, not essential).

Resilient, reliable, and proactive approach to workload.

Salary & Package

Salary between £45,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

Clear structure - experienced team members are already on the top end of the banding and demonstrating progression
