Warehouse Operative

Location: Tameside

Hours: 08:00-17:00

Salary: £12.21

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑focused Warehouse Operative to join our busy and fast‑paced warehouse team. You will support all warehouse departments with a variety of operational and administrative tasks, including producing worksheets, booking shipments, and maintaining accurate stock records. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Print worksheets, picking notes and confirm batch selections using SAP.
  • Print and correctly apply labels to outgoing packages.
  • Gather and analyse data from software and worksheets to identify opportunities for improvement and process efficiency.
  • Prepare carrier documentation for UK and international shipments (including TNT).
  • Complete agreed customer administration tasks, including shipping documentation.
  • Use Microsoft Office to produce graphs, tables and performance data for warehouse teams.
  • Book packaging materials in and out of SAP.
  • Provide administrative support to the warehouse and Health & Safety teams, including copying, scanning and maintaining filing systems.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and follow 5S principles (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardise, Sustain).
  • Load goods and packages onto delivery vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate stock records to ensure items can be easily located.
  • Support daily warehouse operations across processing, picking and packing (training provided).
  • Identify opportunities for improved ways of working and contribute ideas to enhance processes and procedures.
  • Work consistently to high health and safety standards and follow all warehouse procedures.
  • Carry out additional warehouse duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills essential for data entry and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems.
  • Previous warehouse experience is desirable.
