Role Overview:
The Buyer will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services for our projects. A construction background is valued, with a focus on organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily ordering of raw materials and plant hire tools/equipment.
Organizing waste removal from construction sites.
Updating delivery dates, chasing late orders, and expediting materials.
Monitoring stock levels and liaising with supervisors.
Resolving delivery/invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
Reviewing purchasing agreements and maintaining price updates.
Sourcing new suppliers and services.
Requesting samples and technical information for future projects.
Negotiating rates and terms with suppliers.
Preparing tender enquiry packages for various services.
Evaluating quotes and providing feedback.
Collaborating with Quantity Surveyors on new tenders.
Tracking live hire of tools and plant.
Reviewing invoices and resolving queries before finalizing values.
Attending Pre-Start Meetings to understand site-specific requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:
Experience in purchasing within the construction environment.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret construction drawings (advantageous).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
Strong problem-solving skills for resolving supplier issues.

Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 DOE
