Job Title: Estimator (Cladding & Retrofit Services)
Location: Northwest-based, Hybrid working (sites UK-wide)
Salary: Dependent on experience, competitive package for the right candidate.

With a focus on cladding, retrofit services, and external wall insulation, they provide innovative solutions for both private sector and local council projects. The company works across a wide range of construction sectors, with a primary emphasis on high-rise cladding remediation, fire barriers, and retrofit strategies.
Job Overview:
We are looking for an Estimator to join the team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), interpreting technical drawings, and producing clear, accurate, and competitive quotes and pricing for various projects, primarily focused on retrofit and cladding work. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator to work on diverse projects with a mix of private and local council work across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs): Accurately quantify materials, labor, and other costs to create detailed and comprehensive BOQs.
- Interpret Drawings and Specifications: Read and analyze technical drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Create Clear and Detailed Quotes: Develop easy-to-read, comprehensive quotes for clients, ensuring all costs are covered and clearly communicated.
- Cost Management: Work closely with the project team to ensure costs remain within budget and provide support in cost control during the lifecycle of the project.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits as required across the UK to assess project requirements, gather information for estimates, and verify project scope.
- Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients (including private developers, local councils, and contractors) to discuss project scope, costs, and expectations.
- Work with Project Teams: Collaborate with the project management and technical teams to ensure accurate cost estimation and provide support through the tender and delivery phases.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate costs and ensure successful project completion.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in Estimating: Minimum of 3 years' experience as an estimator within the construction industry, with a focus on housing, high-rise developments, and/or retrofit services.
- Technical Expertise: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- BOQ Experience: Proven experience in compiling Bills of Quantities and creating accurate, detailed cost estimates.
- Knowledge of Retrofit and Cladding Works: Familiarity with external wall insulation, high-rise cladding remediation, fire barriers, and similar building retrofit works is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate pricing documentation.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
- Project Management Support: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality control and meeting deadlines.
- Site-Based Understanding: Flexibility to travel to sites across the UK as required for site visits and evaluations.
- IT Proficiency: Comfortable using estimating software, Microsoft Office, and relevant construction industry tools.
