HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Irlam & Trafford Park, Greater Manchester

Salary: £16.00 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 6:00pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team at a well-established alcohol distribution company operating out of Irlam and Trafford Park. This role involves the delivery of alcohol products to pubs, bars, restaurants, and wholesalers throughout the Northwest.

As a driver, you'll represent the company at customer sites, so professionalism, punctuality, and a customer-focused attitude are essential. You'll be responsible for both driving and physically delivering goods such as kegs, cases, and bottles.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive Class 2 (Category C) vehicles for multi-drop deliveries of alcoholic beverages.

- Safely load and unload stock using tail lifts, sack trucks, and manual handling.

- Deliver to a variety of licensed premises, ensuring timely and accurate drop-offs.

- Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and obtain signatures.

- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any issues or defects.

- Adhere to all driving laws, tachograph regulations, and company policies.

- Provide friendly and professional service to customers at delivery points.

Requirements:

- Valid and in-date HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

- Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card.

- Minimum 1 year of HGV Class 2 driving experience (essential).

- Confident in manual handling; ability to lift heavy items such as beer kegs.

- Good knowledge of local and regional roads (Greater Manchester and North West).

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

Desirable:

- Previous experience delivering alcohol or beverages to licensed premises.

- Familiarity with using pump trucks or sack barrows.

- Forklift licence (preferred but not required).
