Role Overview
They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can manage projects independently and contribute effectively from day one. Projects typically range in value from £100k to £10m and are primarily located across the North West, with occasional projects in the South.
The role is predominantly office-based, with regular site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows
- Monitor project progress, valuations, variations, and change control
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial procedures
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including valuations and final accounts
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
- Identify and implement value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management
- Ensure adherence to company quality, health & safety, and commercial standards
Candidate Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Willingness to attend site visits as required
- Full UK driving licence
