Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can manage projects independently and contribute effectively from day one. Projects typically range in value from £100k to £10m and are primarily located across the North West, with occasional projects in the South.

The role is predominantly office-based, with regular site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account

     

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows

     

  • Monitor project progress, valuations, variations, and change control

     

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial procedures

     

  • Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including valuations and final accounts

     

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams

     

  • Identify and implement value engineering and cost-saving opportunities

     

  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management

     

  • Ensure adherence to company quality, health & safety, and commercial standards

     

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

     

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor

     

  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes

     

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously

     

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

     

  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

     

  • Willingness to attend site visits as required

     

  • Full UK driving licence
